I think Buehrle got a bigger payday then he should have from the fish. I would have passed on him. Now in Jackson's case, you cant go wrong on a one year deal. If Carp is done then they can limp by for a while. To make a run they will need a mid season fix. Why wait till mid season?

They may not have to. Even without Carpenter, they probably feel like they can contend in the NLC. And addressing your point, I'm sure after 2009 and 2011 Moz is confident he can add pieces at the trading deadline.

Im sure he is to but I see it as foolish. Fix the problem before it becomes one. It is upsetting to know they will likely not be proactive about this issue.
