This Angels lineup is weak. Their second-best hitter (Morales) would be STL's fourth-best.

Wow that was a weak introduction. Welcome to baseball heaven, Albert.

Maybe the Angels didn't hand out Thundersticks tonight.

Please hit into a double play ...

That's not gonna have the distance ...

Whoa, getting jammed by Bruce Chen. Good start.

So far, Arte has a hump-backed line drive and a 45-foot popup for his $252 million investment.

That TV deal needs to kick in quickly because surrounding Pujols with a bunch of bad hitters is a good way to waste the remainder of his prime.

As long as Torii Hunter is standing in the on deck circle, I have no idea why anyone would throw him a strike.

Pujols will have no problem extending himself if that happens.
Geez Jered Weaver is good.

Appropos of nothing involving Pujols, but the 2012 Astros may have a hard time winning 50 games.

That's some filthy stuff from Aaron Crow.

Crow has some brass ones. He took it right to Pujols.

Crow looked nasty.
I haven't followed his career since he left Mizzou, but Crow was a really good starter at Mizzou. I'm not sure why Kansas City isn't giving him a shot in that role.

It's just too hard to get in the KC rotation these days. I mean, nobody can just take the spot of a stalwart like Luke Hochevar.
Ned Yost is playing 10-dimensional chess.

Crow looked much more hittable in his 2nd inning.
On a completely unrelated note, he hasn't shown much tonight, but if put a gun to my head and forced me to give a 10 year contract to one of the two first basemen in this game, it wouldn't be the one in the Angels uniform. Hosmer's going to be really good for a long time.

I guess when Soria went down they needed him in the bullpen.

And there's intentional walk #1.

And Hunter makes the Royals pay with a wicked shot.

"Hosmer's going to be really good for a long time."
The left fielder can play a little bit, too.

Vast improvement for Terry Francona in the booth from Wednesday night. He's clearly going to have to study the NL.

Gordon, Hosmer, Moustakas, Butler, Cain, Escobar and Sal Perez all have the potential to be pretty good. How many of them will be Royals in 2016?

Royals rocking the Angels, 7-2, at the moment. Pujols drove in his first run of the year with a groundout and is 2-for-3 with a single, double and a UIBB (unintentional intentional walk) when they pitched around him with runners on second and third and no outs in the third. The Royals got out of it cheaply by allowing one run on a fielder's choice.
One of the byproducts of signing Pujols is the Angels had to move Mark Trumbo to third, and he's already committed his third error of the season today. With the way that team is put together, you'd better make sure your defense is pretty good.

Down 7-3 in the 9th, Pujols walked to put the tying run in the on deck circle with no one out.
His protection (Hunter, Wells and Morales) proceeded to strikeout to complete a series win for the Royals.
I wonder how many of the Anaheim faithful stayed around for the finish.
