They now have 76 mllion wrapped up in 2013 payroll. There payroll for 2012 is only 84mill. That 2013 is only accounts for 11 players.

They're going to have to pay Latos at some point if they want to keep him. I think Arroyo's humungous contract runs out either at the end of this year or next, which will help. In either event, I don't know how Castellini expects to field a 25-man roster without raising ticket prices. The Reds are already at the bottom of the league in ticket prices, and they've not been able to draw 20K a game for a series against the defending World Series champion in a divisional rivalry.

I was curious how they could afford Votto drawing 16/17K a game. I didn't even realize they commited another 72+ million to Phillips....

Arroyo's contract is on the books only through 2013. You right that will help. Still 10 players are arbitration eligible in 2013.
