White Sox are reportedly interested in trading for Rasmus and would make Carlos Quentin a part of the package.
Here's the best part of the Sun-Times article:
Then there's Quentin. The Sox love his raw talent but are concerned about his capacity to grind out an entire season without beating himself up mentally. A team source said Quentin planned to again visit with a life coach this offseason so he could ''start having some fun in the game.'' The source also confirmed Rasmus had been brought up during the last few weeks of the regular season.
Khalil Greene Redux anyone?

That is fine as long as the other two guys included are John Danks and Alexei Ramirez. I am not opposed to dealing Rasmus but it better be better then Quentin. I am not sure he isnt going to be a long time MLBer but Rasmus has alot of upside. His brain is his only downside.

No kidding. I think the Cardinals are going to laugh Williams off the phone.

Which brings to point what would be a fair trade for Rasmus. I dont think Mo wants to trade him but if a team blows him away with an offer he would have to listen.

Is this emanating solely from the White Sox, or are the Cardinals listening?

Listening or asking? They would be a fool not to listen. Mobagz was said he will not trade Rasmus. I have no proof but I believe that. However if a team calls him up and offers to overpay for Rasmus I think he would listen. I really dont think Mogagz will make a trade that puts the team in worst shape next year. He is still trying to prove himself and you cant prove yourself if you say wait till next year. If someone offered the Cardinals a trade that made the Cardinals better for next year I think he would listen even if that involved Rasmus.

The Sun-Times was once a rarity: a respected tabloid. Then Rupert Murdoch bought it and it became a rag like all his other "news" papers and "news" stations. I wouldn't put much credence in what appears there.
But that said, any Rasmus trade has to be for something really exciting; if they pull a Ludwick and trade Rasmus for the equivalent of Jake Westbrook then it may be the move that breaks Moz's back.
