Re: Albert Pujols Gamecrap

Anyone else watching Rangers/White Sox tonight see the catch Hamilton just made? Or his home run? How the hell did the Cardinals ever beat these guys? They have good starting pitching, they one guy after another who comes out of the bullpen throwing 95, they hit, they hit with power, they run the bases and they play defense.

I don't care about the acquisitions of Pujols and CJ Wilson, Texas is still the team to beat.

Yes. They have built an absolute machine. I think their biggest weakness is Nelson Cruz's defense and Ron Washington.

Reminds me of the line in the Princess Bride "Why didn't you list that among our assets?!?"

BTW, did anone else hear Hershiser try to elaborate on his "heavy ball" comment last night? Geez-us, Orel. Stop Twittering, will ya? This is the second time I've heard him directly address Twitter responses on the air. I don't covene a seance and try to summon Percy Spencer for an explanation every time I use my microwave oven. If they don't get it, they don't get it.

Re: Albert Pujols Gamecrap

Interesting ...

Sitting where you are, are there as many empty seats at Cincy as there were the past couple of nights? And if so, how are the Reds going to afford the big contracts they've just committed to? Have the Reds just guaranteed several years of competitiveness against the Cards, or are they hamstrung now? (For my part, I'm thinking we'll be able to look at the Reds and say, "that's what we would have looked like if we'd given Pujols the money he wanted." Thoughts?)

Look at Votto's contract. Look at what Albert got from the Angels. Maybe now you know who the "mystery team" was in the Pujols' talks last December.

As much as I detest Pujols presently, I most likely would have ended up with a prison sentence if that little bastard went to a damned division rival.

Re: Albert Pujols Gamecrap

0-2 thusfar, even though the Angels are pounding the Twins, none of it is because of Pujol$$$$.

.200 with no power numbers to speak of, keep up the good work AP.

I doubt it will be a pretty as thing would have been in STL if his doesnt produce.  The media will be up his ass as will the fans.  I doubt Pujols reacts well.

Re: Albert Pujols Gamecrap

I'm not sure people in L.A. care enough about the Angels.

Slappy raised his average to .263 with a single to left field, then Kendry Morales homered.

Got to get runners on base in front of guys who are capable of hitting the ball out of the park.
I was thinking about starting the Albert Pujols Home Run Watch, but since I jinxed Cozart, it's probably not such a good idea.

Re: Albert Pujols Gamecrap

Pujols went 1-4 as Colon shut down LAA.  Man they are bad.  But remember, it wasnt about the money.  I was about winning and family.  Izzy did pitch a scoreless inning with 1 SO and 2 walks.

Re: Albert Pujols Gamecrap

I suspect the homerless streak is about to come to an end.  Pujol$ went 3 for 5 last night with 3 doubles.  But as it stands today, he's still 1 HR behind Tyler Greene.

Oh yeah, the Angels lost again and fell to 4-9, already 7 games behind Texas.

Re: Albert Pujols Gamecrap

The Rangers are going to win over 100 games and the Angels will finish 15 games out and five games out of the wild card.

Great move, Arte!

MLB is counting down till Pujols' first HR.  Hit one to the track yesterday and went 0-4.

Re: Albert Pujols Gamecrap

The guy who probably doesn't care much about baseball hit two clutch-y home runs yesterday, while Pujols went 0-3. He's rewarded with this:
