So um .... 13 runs, and not a single HR? That's pretty strange. Good game by Holliday. We need more 3-3 days from him.

Hope we saved a few runs for Sat./Sun.

Greinke has pitched on the road just once this year and the Cubs(!) pounded him. Apparently the Cardinals hit around Estrada in that 9-3 win on Easter.
Fate owes the Cardinals these next two games. They should be 15-5 right now.

Strauss says Craig is going to be back on Tuesday. Berkman is eligible to come off the DL next weekend. Carpenter is on some program that strengthens his arm. When that's complete, he'll have to go through the spring training schedule. So I don't think it's crazy to think he'll be back by late June.

'So I don't think it's crazy to think he'll be back by late June.'
so it will be like trading for a big name before the deadline without having to make a trade?

So the question is... when Craig and Berkman come back, who goes to Memphis? I dont think you can send Shane Robinson back at this point, and Matt Carpenter has driven in 14 runs already. Nice problem to have, I suppose.
The Carpenter decision wont have to be made for awhile, but if he was coming back right now they'd have a hell of a decision to make about who leaves the rotation. Westbrook would be my choice, but he's pitching really well so far. And it cant be Lynn... my prediction that he'd be the ace within a couple of years proved to be pessimisting... he's the ace right now.
i'm ready to pull the plug on komatsu. i just don't see him ever being more than a 5th outfielder.
is descalso out of options? i know they can't send greene down, but if they have some flexibility with descalso, that might be where they go.
ditto on lynn, but let's see where everyone is in june. westbrook has pitched 200 innings in a major league season. lynn hasn't.
and this will be a good thing, getting carpenter back in june. there's no way his arm can handle another year like last.

Westbrook is in much better physical condition than last year, but I have a hard time trusting him not to turn back into Jake F-ing Westbrook.
Agree on Komatsu... would rather see them eject early on that one than send Carpenter or Descalso out.
one of the things i like best about lynn is his demeanor on the mound. nothing seems to bother the kid.

Getting Craig back will be huge and Berkman of course will equally important.

With Skip back the club can get rid of both Komatsu and Robinson. The depth chart in center would be Jay, Skip and Beltran. Craig played a little center last year and I think Greene could work in a pinch. That would be my solution.
Alot can change by the end of June when Carp comes back. Someone could need a DL trip or become inefffective. I bet having to much pitching wont be a problem.
