It's good to see Craig back, but someone needs to tell Matheny he's a better hitter than the two of the guys directly in front of him.

That was a lazy play by Beltran. Did he think Molina was running?

I'm glad Jon Jay's role has been defined as "guy who bunts Furcal over."

Hmm, maybe they should've gone for a multiple-run inning with the guy batting .400.

thank you, clint barmes.

the awful ball/strike c.b. bucknor count stands at one apiece so far ...

geez-us. plunk the automatic out to lead off the inning. this does not bode well.

six is a serious number

Darth/Artie, how do you feel about Matheny taking the bat out of God's hands?

It would be a good time for Mr. Holliday to go on a tear.

he's not *the* god. he's *a* god.
there's something to be said about getting an early lead. it makes a little more sense if the pitching matchup had been gibson v. koufax, not morton v. wainwright.

what happened to bucknor?

defensively, this might be the worst i've seen a major league team play. maybe even an american legion team.

jeff suppan starting tomorrow for the padres against milwaukee

runners on 2d and 3d, one out, slappy at the plate with a 3-0 count. swings at a pitch six inches outside and grounds out to third base.

Eh, I was typing on my phone and didn't have a chance to be particular.
Wainwright's command is still lacking. Hopefully that gets better as the season progresses. Right now he's Eric Milton.

What is Salas doing?

makes you appreciate how fine the line is between being a 20-game winner and ... well, eric milton.

wow. how often do you hear 'moby dick' at the ballpark?

What a gross game that was. Salas better get his shit together.
Offline
a true save for motte, because if the cardinals lost this game, my friggin' head would have exploded.

AJ Burnett goes tomorrow. Let's hope they didn't do all of their run scoring tonight.

Agree, it just really stinks when your coasting along with a strong outing, and everything turns suddenly when we can't get a 3rd out in the eighth ...( Wainwright not there yet , but at least we got him some runs for a change )
