"Red Sox fans had to love him for honoring Ruth. I didn't remember that part of it."
Ruth is kind of like the big fish who got away. It's not really his fault. The ire is directed at the owner who sold him. He had some good years with the Red Sox, and he lived on a farm in what is now one of the suburbs about 20 miles west of Boston during the off-season even when he played with the Yankees, so he's regarded well.

Eh Motte? Two nights in a row?
If they manage to win tonight, they have no chance of winning tomorrow, so no need to save Motte.
That's a good point,

On the Arizona feed, you picking up the broad screaming like she's being anally attacked by Ron Jeremy? WTF was that?
LOL. No.

Ahh closing it out Valverde-style. Always a crowd pleaser.

Here we go. Another shot at a sweep.

Ricky recommends ice to prevent swelling. That's insightful stuff.
If Yadi has a broken bone in his hand because Boggs can't tell the difference between one finger and two fingers, I'm going to be very upset.

Berkman's due to return soon. Can Allen Craig catch?

Matheny will field a batting order comprised entirely of pitchers just to make it challenging.

Anything involving Ron Jeremy is bound to be.

Open-ended trivia question: Colorado pitcher Alex White wears #6. How many pitchers can we name who wore single-digit numbers? Off the top of my head, I can only think of Matt Young wearing #1 with the Red Sox.
Enberg and his sidekick in the Padres booth are all over this now. They had Wells, Atlee Hammaker with the Giants (they say #7, but I thought he wore #14), Kyle Drabek with the Blue Jays (#4) and Josh Towers with the Blue Jays (#7).
And Matt Young wore #1 with Seattle.

BTW- kudos to Westbrook for another good start. I realize it's a different manager, but Westbrook has pitched into the 7th inning in all 6 of his starts. He did it only 7 times all of last season.

Mitchell Boggs reminding us he's still Mitchell Boggs.
Can you imagine how LaRussa would have reacted to that bottom of the ninth? He would have birthed a litter of kittens.

Cement-head signed with the Padres, which would make him teammates with Jeff Suppan.
Randy Keisler, Randy Flores, Tyler Johnson, Braden Looper, Brian Falkenborg, Kelvin Jimenez, Brad Thompson, Josh Kinney, Kelly Stinnett and Preston Wilson are all waiting for their phone calls.
Oh the memories.

If he keeps it up, we might even be able to lobby Windy to drop "Freckin'" as his middle name.

They've given up on the game. They found a young couple in the stands holding a sign that reads "First Date" and it's morphed into a discussion and now a text poll question about whether there will be a second date. I'm not making this shit up.It's 70 percent yes right now.
They're now being interviewed. Anna has consented to a second date with Brandon. Gracie is getting them tickets to Saturday's game. Again, not making this shit up. My imagination isn't that fertile.
I doubt it was that hard to find them seats. Grace will probably bang her before then anyway.

Anna wasn't entirely unattractive. Brandon looked like he played high school football ... but spent most of his career blocking punts with his face.

Who was the guy in the mid-2000s they picked up from San Diego to start one game, and then they DFA'd him the next day?

How many nights do you think Leyland has sat at a bar, smoking a pack of cigarettes and drinking scotch and wondered how in the fuck his team lost Game 1 of the World Series to ole flatbill?

Matheny just said that initial x-rays on Molina's hand looked clean, but the ball hit a spot where a bone had previously been broken, so they're checking further.

We could play guess the lineup:
SS Furcal
RF Beltran
LF Holliday
1b Craig
3b Freese
2B Greene
CF Robinson
c Cruz
P Loshe

Suppan went 5 innings and allowed one run. Currently in line for the win.
