Re: 5/11 Gamecrap

Man, Robinson just took the worst at-bat I've seen since I was live for Skip Schumaker's MLB debut in 2005.

Dammit I'm just pissed that it was Kyle fucking McClellan. Again.

His OPS in May before tonight was 1.556 and right now he's 3-3 with 2 homers.

And Slappy is 0-3 with a K.

What's his May OPS?

.382 (not counting the 0-4 he's put up tonight), or 28 points lower than Hamilton's current batting average.

Re: 5/11 Gamecrap

"This loss only hurts because they came back from a 5-1 deficit, but if they can take it to 12 innings on a night when Garcia was ass, Molina was ass, Boggs was ass, Scrabble was ass and McClellan was ass, they're going to win a lot of games."

Games like this happen, but there's a relentlessness to the Cardinals that makes them easy to like.

Re: 5/11 Gamecrap

The MLBN guys are talking about how awful Pujols looked at the plate. I'm almost starting to feel sorry for him. He's had bad weeks and maybe a bad month once in awhile, but he's never sucked this bad this long.

Right. They're going to win a lot if the lineup stays healthy, but they have to make changes to the bullpen. Boggs can't be THE guy, and the closest deficit McClellan has been asked to protect is two. He looks cooked and Matheny knows it.

Sorry to keep harping on this, folks. I'm just incensed.

No suprise this morning.  I went to bed after the 9th.  I would never pitch McCellan in extra innings or ever.

I just got back from Fenway Park. I hate American League baseball. It took Ubaldo Jimenez 99 pitches to get 13 outs.
Hope your dog feels better, AP. We had a health scare with our 18-year-old cat this week. Ever try to give medication to a cat? Ever try to get a cat to do anything a cat doesn't want to do?

I am pretty sure we are going to have to put him down.   I cant afford to pay $4000 for sugery and he is paralyzed.  It is a really depressing time.  I havent even told my 4 year old why Im going to take Lane to the doctor and he wont come back alive.  Such a good dog.

Sorry about your dog, AP. It has to be a very difficult time for you guys right now.

I don't mean to treat your situation lightly, but in all honesty I have to say that reading your first sentence above right on the heels of the post before it, my first thought was that you were still talking about McClellan.

Re: 5/11 Gamecrap

Lane is staying at the clinic.  We took him to a different one who wanted to try steroids and some other things.  I am think alittle more positive.  At least now I feel like we have tried to help him.  If i doesnt work it will still suck but at least I know we did what we could.

Re: 5/11 Gamecrap

We got good news today.  The new clinic we took him to said that he is showing signs of recovery.  He is peeing and pooing and attempting steps.  The thinking is that if we can keep him from furthering the injury the swelling in his back will go down and he can regain movement in his hind legs.  It has been a really positive day after a couple pretty bad ones.  I hate this shit.  I deal with people deaths better then pets.  Always have.
