Funny how vote turn out. I am sure I could post a poll on adding the DH to NL games and this board would be against it. So why is baseball worried about thing the fans dont care about? What does outlawing this do?

My guess is that anything that takes away from defense in favor of offense is judged but TPTB as something that will increase popularity. When you look at the history of the Brewers' franchise under Selig, pitching and defense don't exactly stand out as priorities.

If anything they are on the right track when they speak of quicking the game. I would rather watch a 1-2 game that takes 2hrs then a 7-8 game that takes 4hrs. AL baseball takes to long and doesnt have much flare. Speed the game up if you want to draw interest. I thought the Phillies playoff game that the final innings took place during prime time would open there eyes. Baseball is interesting. People who watch it love it. The problem is the games get over to late for most to see the most interesting parts of the game.
