Shane Robinson to Memphis. Carpenter's has picked up some hits lately.

I would've been OK with Descalso, Robinson or Romero getting the boot.

The umpiring has been one of the worst things I've ever seen. It's time to get rid of them. Period.

Another shitty game. Everytime I can watch the games of late they have been shit.
Well Beltran is trying to make it interesting.

I am not in favor of this.

I don't think they win more than 86 games. Inconsistent starters and a bad bullpen. This is feeling like 2003.

And every time I don't plant my arse in front of the TV, they lose. I wonder how "Can't go to Zach's lax game, the Cardinals need me ..." will go over next Sunday with the wife.

They usually are.
I only watched Friday's game, but did anyone else have the suspicion the Braves were a little more motivated this weekend after last year's choke?

I dont know if it is motivation or just failure on the Cardinals part. One thing Larussa was pretty good at was keeping his teams from prolong droughts. We will see how Matheny attemps to pull this team out.

I think the Cardinals were just really bad. I'm not sure what the game plan was for the pitchers, but apparently it involved lots of nibbling, since neither Garcia or Wainwright really attacked them. Lynn just didn't have control of his breaking pitches. Heyward wasn't going to make an out in that bases loaded at-bat yesterday. Lynn was either going to throw a flat slider or a fastball. They had no fear of his breaking pitches, and the better hitters weren't fooled by his fastball.
Also, the hitters stunk out loud after Beltran's home run in the eighth inning on Friday. It was just a bad weekend of bad baseball where all their warts get exposed at once.
