You deal in labor/union stuff. What is your opinion?

I don't see it as a big deal. Baseball's system is unique in that they apparently retain a single arbitrator to decide all of these cases. In the real world, both labor and management know the arbitrators who tend to favor one side or the other and avoid using them. It may seem distasteful, but MLB is acting in accordance with their rights under the CBA.
ETA- there are arbitrators I've dealt with from whom I've received bad decisions, and I've avoided using them since.

I would have assumed that both sides had to agree on the arbitator. I thought the Braun decision was fair. Maybe not justice but fair. It is to bad the guy gets the boot just because he went against his employer. How could an arbitrator ever be fair in this situation?

He has to be fair to keep his job. If it appears he's favoring one side, he gets fired. There's a difference between losing and a bad decision. MLB obviously took this one a little personal.

There's never been a full explanation, which is troubling. The rumors are of course that he's taking medication for herpes, but no one's ever confirmed that. I suppose revealing you've got herpes is embarrassing, but when you weigh it with the perception that you're a cheater who got off on a technicality, I think I'd rather admit to the STD.
BTW, Guillermo Mota got 100 games last week for his second positive test. One of his representatives suggested it was due to cough medicine, which was apparently prescribed at the Miguel Tejada Hospital in downtown Santo Domingo.

I bet Braun thought it was fair.
