I'm surprised they're letting Garcia pitch the eighth.

I would have.

This is where it hurts not having Jay or Beltran batting second.

I think I would have too. Pitch count is OK, but he's starting to labor a bit. If it's still a 1-run game in the bottom of the 8th, I don't know how you let him face Posey with a runner on base. Pagan worries me, too.

Check, please.

I dont know what is more suprising, Skip or Garcia?

I was going to ask why Motte is sitting in the dugout, but then I remembered the bullpens are in play here. Hanging out with a dozen pitchers for an entire game has got to be draining on the real players.

Garcia's thrown strikes, and he's kept the ball down. I don't think he's walked anyone.

Let's hold off on praising Garcia until he gets through the eight. Not a certainty at this point.

Another hit that barely makes it to the dirt. This is ridiculous.

Except for two line drives by Posey, that's been the extent of their offense, AP - bloops, bleeders and seeing-eye singles.

Tonight might have been a new record for "most hits that traveled less than 50 feet.."

Garcia didnt do to bad. I think once it gets past the 7th he needs to be taken out before it become something less then posituve. Hopefully the rest of this innings goes well for the pen.

I'll take those death by a thousand paper cut hits if it means fly balls dying at the track.

Tony Cruz is just a bad, bad hitter. That ball was just asking to be crushed and he whiffed hard.

Brandon Crawford couldn't hit water if he fell out of a fucking boat.

I assumed your absence earlier meant you had just come in from work.

Good win tonight over a really, really good pitcher.

Yep. I like these west coast games. I try to listen to them on the radio but my mind wonders.

He is on the same level as Gary Bennett and Kelly Stineitt. Anderson is batting around .150 in Memphis. The forgoten catcher (Steven Hill) is hitting the ball alittle better, 2/9/.245 in 49 AB. I would personally like to see Hill get more looks but really what does it matter? It is a backup catcher. The worst thing is when Molina get hurt they are going to be shopping.

Is anyone else worried about how hurt this team is? Beltran's knee has become sore. Craig and Loshe both tweeked there hammies. Berkman just came off the DL and Jay just went on it.

We're going to have to rally today for that 3:45 ET start. I feel a minor illness coming on that might require me to leave the office around 3 o'clock.

"Is anyone else worried about how hurt this team is?"
I would describe my degree of concern as "constant."
