I cannot understand why Matheny opted for Salas and Marte.

Probably time for Descalso to go down to Memphis. Papelbon threw him a ball that should have at least been put into the gap and he whiffed worse than Freese against Billingsley on Sunday.

File under: "I went to Busch last night and saw dick."
ST. LOUIS (AP) — A streaker who ran naked onto the field during a Cardinals game says he did so because he lost a bet.
Twenty-two-year-old Collin Grundstrom of Jefferson City was captured at Busch Stadium after shedding his clothes before the start of the seventh inning Thursday night. Officers retrieved his shorts from the stands and made him put them back on before leading him away.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Grundstrom is charged with violating two city ordinances — being a spectator running on the playing field, and lewd and lascivious behavior. He was jailed overnight.
The head of security at the stadium, Joe Walsh, says Grundstrom "appeared to have been drinking."

Two simple ways to prevent this from happening in the future:
1) Tazer to the nuts
2) Take the suspect directly to the City jail in the same clothes (or lack thereof) and place in the general holding cell.
Problem solved

"Tazer to the nuts"

Honestly, while it disrupts the game, is a bit of a security risk, and provides an eyeful to children that I certainly don't want my daughter having to look at.... I don't have a huge problem with streakers. I think it's kind of hilarious watching them try to run from the cops, and get taken down. I know it's criminal, disruptive, etc. I also don't have an issue with some extremely hot drunk chic running on the field to get a hug/kiss from some Cardinal, and also getting taken downtown.
The one issue where I was pretty horrified was the First base coach assault. Those guys need a beating. The rest of it is just good natured horseplay, and deserves a night in jail to sleep it off, and a fine.

Wow that is really harsh.

The TV are people are told to not show anyone running onto the field to avoid promoting that type of behavior, so MLBN kept a shot on the Cardinals' dugout. I guess security body-slammed the guy pretty good, and they two players they were showing when it happened - McClellan and I can't remember who else - reacted with equal parts amusement and "Wow, that's gonna leave a permanent mark."
