This lineup is bad. Like I dont even want to watch bad. Matheny found a way to get Skip, Greene and Descalso in the same lineup and just for good measure threw Cruz in there to.

"This lineup is bad."
Matheny has to give Furcal and Yadi days off once in awhile, and I think he'd prefer to have them both in for tomorrow's game against Halladay.
I'm more concerned about the bullpen right now. As much publicity as You Know Who got for leaving, the guy they've probably missed the most from last year's team is Dotel.

Well that sucked. Freese's defense doesnt strike me as bad but on plays like the one down the line I miss Rolen. That kind of fielding saves a couple runs.
This is also what I have been saying about Garcia. Matheny had no clues that he was going to explode tonight but had he made it through the 6th untouched he needs yanked everytime. Now I am just going to drink the next few innings away untill I find something else to watch.
Adams has looked bad tonight. He is a cornfed looking kind of guy.

That doesnt make the lineup any better. I should just tune out untill Craig and Jay get back.
And you know who has 4 HR in 5 games. Fuck him!!

Matheny looks nervious and unsure in the dugout. Maybe he just needs some dark sunglasses to hide behind. IDK but I think it is rubbing off on the rest of the team. That and most of the leaders are gone. WainO has been fighting his own battle. Berkman and Carp are on the DL and likely not traveling with the team.
Matheny is struggling doing what I think is the hardest part of his job, managing the bullpen. It was pretty easy last month when starters are going 7 or 8 innings and then you roll out your two best bullpen pitcher.

Exactly. Joe Strauss made some garbage comment on Twitter that nobody has "defined roles." Please. Just go out there and try to get the batter out. This bullpen is struggling because no starter can be counted on for at least seven innings. That's not to say that Matheny hasn't made mistakes, but trying to find the right combination when you've got 12-14 outs left is no easy task.

I think it helps to have roles but that only works when the task is predictable. The first month was easy. The offense was rocking and provided several give-me games and the starters did more then there far share. Right now the team is in one of those funks were they just find ways to lose games. One day they dont hit. The next the starter sucks and then the next the bullpen explodes. TLR was an rock and leaned on older players to steady the ship. Everything about this team is volatile in both good and bad ways.
