Loshe sucked last night but the bullpen lost the game.

Lohse was decent after the first inning. The other two runs he gave up were because Holliday and Furcal didn't communicate on Freeman's popup.
And McCann's home run appeared to be wind-aided, at least going by the route Skippy took. When McCann hit it, he put his head down like it was going to stay in the park. It just kept carrying.
Wind-aided homers or not, you can't keep putting your team in a hole in the first inning. What did Bourn hit out of the park on Tuesday, the second pitch Westbook threw? When the Cardinals were winning, it always seemed like they scored first. Now it seems like they're always chasing.

Yikes. I don't like to read about surgically-repaired elbows that get worse from Sunday to Monday. I hope the club isn't soft-peddling this like almost every other freakin' injury ... which it now seems like they're doing with Beltran.

Still not a excuse for two of the teams best bullpen arms to give up 5 runs in 2 innings.

Also take that the bullpen is going to be reordered.  I bet Boggs is closer.

"I bet Boggs is closer."

I still think his psyche is too fragile. They may have to look outside the organization again to prop up their leaky pen (pun intended). Only this time they're probably going to have to cough up one of their prized prospects.
The other consideration is Chris Carpenter's return. Someone will have to go into the bullpen. Even though he's the last one out, it had better not be Lynn. He's been too valuable as a starter. If they're afraid of how Lohse or Westbrook might react (more the former than the latter), too bad. If they had pitched better, they would have held their spots in the rotation.

Re: 5/30 GC at Atl.

Cardinals are expected to promote lefthander Sam Freeman from Memphis.

Freeman, who turns 25 later this month, would be fast-tracked less than a month after advancing from Class AA Springfield. The Kansas alum and veteran of elbow ligament replacement surgery in 2009 has relieved his entire professional career.
