Scoreboard watch: Reds lead Mets 4-0 in the 4th. They have teed off on the famous Dillon Gee, who embarrassed the Cardinals.

Re: 6/15 GC (its been 27 years)

I loathe Chris Getz's angry man persona, his beady little eyes and his ferret-like features.

Rex Hudler sounds like one of those hokey AM disc jockeys from the '70s.

Re: 6/15 GC (its been 27 years)

How many Gold Gloves do they give out in the American League? This is the third consecutive series the Cardinals have played where an announcer who covers the opposing team has described the shortstop as a "future Gold Glover."

Re: 6/15 GC (its been 27 years)

The Cardinals are playing with all the intensity of a high school senior on the last day of school. Great job getting your team fired up, Mike.

Re: 6/15 GC (its been 27 years)

Can we possibly score more than 2 runs tonight ?

Re: 6/15 GC (its been 27 years)

OK, I'm marking that down as "Worst Strikeout of the Year." Three strikes against Vin Mazzaro? Are you serious, Descalso?

Re: 6/15 GC (its been 27 years)

Vin Mazzaro is cruising. And how many times have you been able to say that?

Royals are about to put this game away. Not sure why Matheny thinks Lohse could get through the lineup a third time.

Re: 6/15 GC (its been 27 years)

When did Matt Holliday transform into Shane Spencer?

Re: 6/15 GC (its been 27 years)

The White Sox have already scored two runs off Kershaw. And I was kind of looking forward to watching the Kershaw/Sale matchup after the Cardinals game is over ...

Loshe did fine.  Allowing three 3 runs agains tthe Royals should get you a win.

In the non-Tyler Greene category?

What's the appeal of frozen custard? I'm not being cynical. It's one of those things we don't have around here, like toasted ravioli.

I wasnt aware there was appeal to it.  It just seems creamier then ice cream.

This team is still hard to watch.  I might have to take another week long break.

That was bang bang.  I wont blame Oquendo for that and I think sending Greene was the best chance of winning.  He looked safe in super slow mode.

Creamier than ice cream. It also tastes better, mostly because of more milkfat.

The way Furcal has been swinging, that was probably their best shot. I think he might have been safe, but you can't criticize the umpire too much for calling him out since the ball was there. The Cardinals probably got the same type of benefit of the doubt when Gordon was picked off first in the top of the inning.

FSMW showed a clip of the line outside Ted Drewe's last night, and frozen custard is mentioned in every piece of travel literature you read about St. Louis.

Re: 6/15 GC (its been 27 years)

I don't think there's as much an appeal to frozen custard as it is an appeal to Ted Drewes' frozen custard. There have been plenty of frozen custard places around town that have opened and shut down shortly thereafter. But on any given summer evening you'll wait a half hour for a Ted Drewes concrete. Honestly, I think it's another one of those stupid St. Louis things like asking people where they went to high school. If you're from south city and you get something other than Ted Drewes, then you're low class. Personally, there are a half dozen ice cream places a lot closer to my house that I prefer. I couldn't tell you the last time I went to Ted Drewes. It isn't that special.
