I dunno if I'll be around for this one, but Wainwright goes against Guthrie, who pitches well on the road.

NEW YORK - Joey Chestnut ate his way to a sixth straight win at the Fourth of July hot dog eating contest at Coney Island on Wednesday, tying his personal best in a sweaty, gag-inducing spectacle.
The 28-year-old San Jose, Calif., man nicknamed "Jaws" scarfed down 68 hot dogs in 10 minutes in the sweltering summer heat to take home $10,000 and the mustard yellow belt. He bested his main rival by 16 dogs.
"I feel good, it was a great win," Chestnut said after the contest, adding he wished he could have eaten a record number of hot dogs for the audience. "I tried my best. I'm looking forward to next year already."

I am waiting for Motte to stop scaring me. Not that McCellan can take Motte's job but he may actually help this crappy pen.
Carp is done and Garcia is not l coming back. They havent said that but that alone is proof thathis year or career is over. Any stabs on who they get at the deadline.

More bad news for Garcia:
""I can definitely tell a big difference already," Garcia said. "I'm really confident that the rehab I've been doing is going to make a difference. I'm just really positive about this whole thing, and I'm going to keep working hard and do everything I can every single day. We'll see."

The Rockies brought the tying run to the plate after he gave up a couple of two-out singles on two-strike counts, which was a little nerve-wracking, and the second out was a hard-hit liner to Furcal.
Cleto was good, and Scrabble was better. He threw a slider the likes of which I haven't seen since the NLCS.

If Guthrie was auditioning last night, he didn't do that badly. I'd like to see them make a play for Brandon McCarthy, but I'm not sure I'd want to give up the king's ransom Beane will ask for him.
And they still have to solidify the bullpen. Horton pointed out every half-inning last night it's been better lately, but they could use one arm and maybe two.

Wasn't he diagnosed with tears in his rotator cuff?

Either way, I'm not sure he's going to be healed by rest.
