All-Star GC

http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2012/07/the-mlb-all-star-game-continues-its-slide-toward-irrelevance/259492/

Some hits and misses but interesting.  This writer take the side of voting in the most popular players because of viewership and not good players who are having great years.

Re: All-Star GC

"But despite the fans' good judgment in picking Hamilton, it's not fair that Pujols isn't on this year's All-Star squad. And I don't care who you have to leave off the roster—well, that is besides Hamilton and maybe Derek Jeter—to put him on it."

Jeter? The guy who has the fourth-highest OPS among AL shortstops and has the range of a slug?
I always enjoy it when one of these anacronistic "literary" magazines deigns to recognize the existence of a sport long enough to denegrate it. The Atlantic used to be for people who had  three last names and a Roman numeral at the end like Wellington Tucker Wilson III and supported the Civil Rights movement by giving their butlers and servants a raise every time the minimum wage increased. Now the Atlantic is just a waste of trees.
