Macho Lucho stares in at the opposing pitcher after striking him out. LOL.

Clutch hit by Cruz, followed by really bad baserunning.

It's a good thing there are only 3 bases to leave runners stranded on ...

This game scares me. They have hit well and only have a one run lead. These are the kind of games that get lost.

A large, and surly, crowd in Pittsburgh today. Probably Stealers' fans who are used to getting every call.
Pirates lead, 2-1, in the 6th.

3-1

I guess it's illegal to get Logan Morrison out.

How come his stats against the rest of the league aren't better? He kills the Cardinals.

I've been as critical of Lohse as anyone, so in the interest of being fair I have to give him credit--he's on a nice run for this team both in terms of pitching well and pitching deep into games. Lohse doesn have Wainwright's name recognition or Lynn's All-Star acclaim, but Lohse has probably been the best and most consistent pitcher on the staff.
Must be a contract year.

Everybody that stinks against the rest of the league, kills the Cardinals ; pitchers, hitters, batboys, .........

How did Carpenter look at second the other night? If he can handle the position they would be fools not to play him there more.

"he's on a nice run for this team both in terms of pitching well and pitching deep into games."
All true, but as someone pointed out the other day, he has moments or two in every ballgame where his brain cramps. I know Ruggeiro is on a roll, but you just can't give up a homer to a guy like that.

Uncomfortable, but I don't know if it was because he hasn't played there since he was 13-years-old or because Furcal and Oquendo watched his every move like he was a baby trying to take his first steps.
He handled a couple of routine plays and the one ground ball that got past him probably gets past any second baseman not named Roberto Alomar. He didn't have to turn a double play, but he nearly got planted on his arse on a force play.

Doesnt sound to promising.
