I'm getting Tigers/Orioles. Yipee.

I don't get the Rally Caps thing. "Hey, we need runs. Let's turn our hats inside out so we look silly."

Pick your poison:
1. RISP issue
2. Bullpen issue
3. Others ?

But hey, Brian Fuentes is on his way to save the day.

This one is mostly on the offense. The bullpen was very good until Ricky Ludwig's 300-foot line drive ended up in the front row.

Agreed but Marte still sucks.

Yeah, this loss *is* on the offense, but this is still a bunch of good hitters going through a bad slump. I don't think Magic Mike pulled the right strings yesterday, starting with only getting Boggs for one batter. That's the time right there for a double switch.
And I don't see how you go to Marte before you go to Motte. Yeah, it goes against the orthodoxy set by La Russa to not use your closer unless it's a save situation but I want Motte pitching before Marte in almost every situation.
However, they should have broken that game open against Bray. RH batters have a 1.700 OPS off of him and Tyler Greene popped up weakly.

Who are you going to switch out? With the cleanup spot leading off the top of the eighth, you'd have to take out Furcal, Jay or Holliday, arguably your two best defensive players after Molina and your best hitter. If Boggs' spot was going to come up, he had to figure they would have scored at least one run to take the lead.

This is a bigger failure to me. You left your best relief pitcher in the bullpen. Baker had the advantage of playing at home, but he had no problem using Chapman.
