Thom Brennaman is in fine form tonight, saying that no player in baseball is more important to their team than Joey Votto. I guess Brennaman has forgotten about the McCutchen guy in Pittsburgh.

Fiers looks like has two primary pitches, a 75 mph curve and a 90 mph fastball. He throws a straight change, but it's a waste pitch. I have no idea how the Cardinals are getting fooled as badly as they are.

He's been doing this to multiple teams, but the Cardinals are happy to lend a hand in getting him out of jams.
