The Victor Marte nightmare is over. He's been optioned and Fuentes has been activated.
So a new nightmare? I cant wait. With any luck he is somewhat usable.
I'd be a lot more optimistic if Duncan was still the pitching coach. This may be exchanging a right-handed guy who can't get guys out for a left-handed guy who can't get guys out.
Strauss is indicating today the Cardinals are going to target Broxton. I think Fuentes will be done within two weeks.

I heard he was pissed off several days ago because he found out the Cubs accepted an offer for him to go to the Braves through the media and that was why he used his no trade protection.

That would be awesome. Broxton, Motte, Boggs in the 7th, 8th and 9th would be pretty sweet. Even with the other clowns in the pen I would think they could lock down the 5th or 6th if need be.

That makes a little more sense. Broxton is kind of a cementhead, though. They can't let him anywhere near the ninth inning.

Exactly. If the only baseball you ever knew was what these two clowns on WGN told you, you'd think the Cubs were setting their rotation for the playoffs right now. Pirates won, 3-2, "to salvage Game 3 of the series at home," according to Kasper.
