Oh that's right. Motte pitched two innings.

A 6-1 home stand is great, but it hurts only gaining a half game.

They need this to carry over into this next road trip.  The Cubs and Rockies are beatable.

Ugh. Westbrook is so frustrating.

Strauss was talking about how he would rule out the Cardinals resinging either him or Loshe.

I think AP was saying that he would NOT rule out the Cardinals resigning either Lohse or Westbrook

That is correct Fors.

Why do you lift Freese who's 3-3? Is he hurt?

Yes. Some kind of pull.

Al called it a cramp.

Okay this is funny.  In reference to him falling last night.

"“(Lance) Berkman calls me a baby giraffe. I'm fast, but I'm just coming out of the womb.â€

Re: 7/26 GC vs. Dodgers

I know he's an institution, but it's hard to rely on Shannon for information. I'm still not sure how the Dodgers scored their third run. Did Descalso field a ground ball and throw it to Freese who threw it past Cruz? You'd like to think Descalso could reach the plate from the infield without a cutoff man ...

Strauss wrote in his chat yesterday that there's an option on Westbrook, but I can't remember if it's a club option or a player option, or both.
He also suggested Lohse would be willing to consider rewarding the Cardinals' faith in him in his next contract. Unless Lohse has changed agents, that's hard to believe.

It was also referred to as a cramp during the post-game show.

I would, too.

A couple of VEBers were complaining about Greene not making today's lineup. Poor Tyler.

He's buried in a double wide doghouse after last night's fiasco. Strauss refers to him as a "de facto Rule 5 player." Ouch.

Garza is apparently going to be skipped, so they get Wood tomorrow, Samardzija on Saturday and Maholm on Sunday. They should handle Wood, but Samardzija has allowed five earned runs in his last 27 innings over four starts, and he shutout the Pirates for eight innings in his last outing. Maholm has been arguably the best pitcher in the league this month. He's won his last five starts, allowing no more than one run in each. This may not be a replay of last weekend's massacre.

Mutual option for 8.5mill.  Really it might not be that bad of a deal with Carps health always in limbo.  I know I will live to regret typing that.  And I believe Loshe is still in Boras' camp.
