It can rain for the next 12 hours for all I care now.

I've never seen a manager have such a lack of feel for his pitching staff. At what point in that inning when Colorado was roping 400-foot line drives did Matheny think Westbrook had something left? He was struggling to throw strikes to the pitcher.
I'm not sure he was able to get anyone up in time.
Nice work by Mujica. The last pitch to Brown was meaty, but he otherwise kept the ball down.
I thought they were getting someone up when Lilliquist visited the mound, but it didn't happen. Apparently he just didn't want to burn a pitcher, which is fucking stupid.

Yes. Let it rain.

That is Holliday's updated line. I think McCutchen has the MVP locked up, but Holliday is right there, too.

FSMW just played their special about the Cardinals' September run. I had almost forgotten how terrible Westbrook was. In the second game of that Astros series he gave up five runs in 2.1 innings to what was a AAA lineup. Ten days before that he lasted all of 10 outs against the Phillies.

He didnt have a problem burning Boggs and Motte last night.

Dont get me wrong, the Reds cant burn in hell but I am happy for Ludwig.

It looks like there are about 2,000 people left in the ballpark, most of whom are Cardinals' fans.

They need to stop posting that Boggs graphic.

Nice pick by Craig. That's a really, really tough play.

Indeed.

Dexter Fowler just a little bit late on the fastball ...

Motte threw 27 pitches in a 6-run game, so I'm not sure how effective he will be. Chalk it up as another rookie mistake.

Have you guys seen this commercial with Martin Scorcese sitting in the back of a cab shouting at his cell phone? Imagine Scorcese with saggy jugs and that's my mother-in-law.

Well I'm shocked: Scrabble cant find the zone.

What's Arthur Rhodes up to?

Westbrook should back up to the pay window on this one .....

It amazes me how quickly stuff goes sour for him. It seems like he's cruising, and a dozen pitches later they can't get him out of there fast enough.

The age at which he receives mail from AARP.

Lets not forget how bad Scrabble sucks. He sucks against righties to the point he should never be used and he isnt that much better against lefties. Fuentes isnt any better but I have alittle hope that he can pull it together.

Appropos of nothing, but Andrew McCutchen is hitting .373. This seems like it should be a bigger deal.

It's pretty obvious they can't get greedy with Fuentes and use him against righties, like they did on Monday when he put two guys on base. The only lefty that's reached base against him so far is DeJesus, and I suspect Fuentes walked him because he was still pissed about Johnson laying down that stupid bunt.

To give you an idea of how under-appreciated he is (and how parochial we are around here), I was touting him as the NL MVP favorite a couple of days ago and the guy I was talking to said he gets McCutchen confused with Nyjer Morgan.

You would have to be the most casual of fans to mix up McCutchen and Morgan. Morgan doesn't even have hair. They don't even bat from the same side of the plate.
I feel like every time McCutchen or Trout comes up, ESPN should have Steve Berthuiame (sp? don't care) cut in to say "we interrupt this encore presentation of "NFL Live" to go to Pittsburgh/Anaheim where Andrew McCutchen/Mike Trout steps in to bat."
Trout is on a different planet right now. Would any of you be surprised if I told you that there are some Cubs fans who think Castro will be better?

I'm surprised there are some who don't think he is already.
Thanks for reminding me to make plans for a trip to PNC when the Cardinals come back at the end of this month.
