Reds win 10-8 after the Cubs make five errors. They should be investigated for throwing this game.
Also, Jonathan Broxton continues to suck.

Four out save for Chapman, bringing him 40 pitches closer to Tommy John surgery.
Padres lead, 1-0, after one, but Sideshow Bob had to throw 25 pitches in the bottom of the first.

Why is Lohse pitching around Frandsendrengensen?

This would be the "Jon Jay has too much movement at the plate" portion of the Phillies' broadcast.

There's a person in the crowd presenting to be Vanilla Ice. On purpose.

Utley's coming-to-the-plate music is "Kashmir." I would have gone with "Good Times, Bad Times," but it's still pretty cool.

Halladay's curveball tonight is unhittable ...

What a brutal call at second base. Good thing all it cost was four pitches for Lohse.

Nasty, nasty stuff. He's made some pretty good hitters look pretty bad.

Holliday could have put Furcal in ICU for a long time there ...

Browning to Utley : " that hang up enough for you"?
Utley , "Why yes, thank you very much ."
Offline
Seemed like every pitch to Utley was up, which is an odd approach with the lead run a sac fly away.
In other news, I just noticed the SD-PIT score (happy)

Never understood why what Browning did is a balk, but what Papelbaum did isn't a balk. Prejudice against lefties, I tell ya.

Heck of a way to end it .

I wrote that one off when it was 7-1, and didn't see it again until CSN-Philadelphia showed the scoreboard under the Reds/Cubs score while Kruk was in the middle of touting the Reds' pitching as the best in the league.
Pads going to the ninth now with a 9-8 lead ...

'Spose the logic is if Beltran makes it, you tie the game with a single, but it looks bad when it doesn't work out.
I'd have let Freese hit. Papelbaum wasn't fooling anyone. Three screaming line drives in a row. Holliday got a cookie. He just didn't get enough lift.

Rod Barajas has 5 o'clock shadow at noon.

Pirates go down 1-2-3 in the ninth.

I know Huston Street getting hurt isn't anything new, but he looked like he pulled a muscle in his calf or maybe even tore an Achilles covering first on the final out. It looked pretty bad.

Glad I didn't see this one. Lefty relief is going to be an ongoing issue.

Also. I think the Cardinals have like 20 hits in the last 4 games. That's not going to get it done.

Left calf injury , "out for awhile" says Bud Black - likely DL ....
