I'm sure someone out there has done an analysis of Wainwright's BAA on each type of pitch. I'm going to guess it's higher on the cutter than the other two.

That's probably right.

The Dodgers are up 7. Cardinals would pull into a tie for the second WC spot if they win tonight.
So...they should stop pretending Joe Saunders is good.

Dickey was scorched tonight by the Reds. I know the division is pretty much out of reach, but that's ridiculous.
Freese needed that one.

"Freese needed that one."
So did my fantasy team. Freese was in danger of being benched for Pedro Alvarez.

I'm making the call at 8:37 CDT 8/15/12: Stick a fork in the Pirates.

Nah.
Furcal's back must be feeling better.

I gather the purpose of the lawn gnome's entry was that Waino was seen as finished, as opposed to improving the chances of getting Furcal in?

Mujica has been a good pick-up so far ....

Sure has. Hopefully we'll let him go after this season and trade somebody else to replace him next July.

Rec'd.

Big win tonight. It'd be nice to see them win 6 of the next 7.

Wainwright's progress has been gratifying to see. If he can end up with 15 wins, 200 innings, and an ERA around 3.70 that would be about as good a rebound as we could have expected.

Now now. Shane-o is never going to make anyone forget Jim Edmonds, but he can play a little defense and he's got some speed. At least he's not on the roster solely because he's been using his nose as a substitute for the manager's colonoscope.
