There's a lot of baseball to watch tonight.

Unfortunate for Lynn that Furcal couldn't make a better throw to Craig , although many 1st basemen make that pick ....

I really hate the shift.

Paul Goldschmitt can't catch a ball. Fuck Arizona.

The alleged best lineup in the NL is getting shutout in Colorado, 7-0. Josh Beckett was mediocre.
Atlanta is losing 2-0 in San Diego.
Cardinals would 2.5 up on LA if Colorado holds on. They'd be out by a game and a half if San Diego can hold on.

Reds leading 3-2 through 8th. That one is over. Arizona is puke.

They are olny 5.5 back of the Reds. I like that In Sept the Cards play Houston 6 times, the Cubs 3 and the Padres 3.

Jayson Stark was on "Mike & Mike" this morning with some trivia: Adrian Gonzalez is one of four first basemen to average 30 home runs and 30 doubles since 2008. Who are the other three?
I didn't have to think that hard about this. "Greeny" got it wrong. Adam Schefter didn't even guess the obvious one because he didn't realize he was a first baseman. Maybe I should be hosting a radio show on ESPN.

Does Cabrera no longer qualify as a first baseman?
Pujols- 38/38
Fielder- 30/35
Cabrera- 39/34
Teixeira- 34/33

Pirates release Bedard.
Vegas is taking bets on the amount of time it takes to clear his locker. O/U is 12.5 hours.

He does not, but if he did, he would make that list. And you are correct.

He looks all out of whack. I know his left hand is supposedly sore, but when he's swinging from the left side his back foot is all over the place and he's chopping down on the ball at an angle.

Wow. To paraphrase Michael Ray Richardson: The Pirates be sinkin'.
