A godlike at-bat by Jay to lead off.

Re: 8/29 Gamecrap

My FSMW feed is out. And for whatever reason I can't watch this on MLB TV even though it's an away game and I could watch last night.

Re: 8/29 Gamecrap

Jon Jay has saw 19 pitches tonight. The other 8 Cardinals have saw 30.

Re: 8/29 Gamecrap

They tease us; get our hopes up , and then the bottom falls out of a phase(s) of their game . Very frustrating ...

One thing about Cubs fans is that they suck.  They know they suck.  They know they are going to keep on sucking.  Their lips get chapped from all the sucking but it goes away.  By a young age a Cub fan developes a callous on its lips and is able to suck for its entire life.  Nature and natural selection creates a being that can withstand years of disappointment.  The inconsistency of being a Cardinals fan wears on a guy.

Too bad my son's lap top is on the mend and I won't have a TV and a computer in the same room for awhile, or I would have told you the game was on ESPN. Then again, it's probably better that you missed that stinker.
Is there any doubt anymore that the Cardinals need Molina more than any other player on their roster? I think you can even make an argument he's the most valuable player in the league this year.

It should have happened about a half-dozen games ago, but at some point the Cardinals have make this guy a little less comfortable in the batter's box. He's owned them like a pimp. I'm not necessarily talking about plunking him, but give him something to think about. Piss him off. Do something. Because whatever they're doing isn't working.

Had to give a REC for this part of your post.

I agree about Molina.  He cant be replaced on this team.  I havent been a big supporter in the past.  He has really took his offense to a new level and become a leader.  I assume Pujols leaving caused him to be a bigger leader.  I wish he would have taken this role with Pujols still in St. Louis.  Still I think Cruz has done a really good job as a backup.  When he has played he has hit alittle and doesnt seem to be bad behind the plate.  I dont think he is going to be starting in the majors anytime soon but it is nice to see a young healthy backup behind Molina.  someone who doesnt go down several times a year and cause the Cardinals to dig into Memphis or call Gary Bennett.

Yeah, I've definitely changed my mind on Molina. The adjustments he's made on offense are amazing.

Aye. He's been fine. I still think it's ironic that Hrabosky touts Cruz's versatility, when except for pitcher the one position where versatility isn't a requirement is backup catcher.

It would be fine if the Cardinals carried a third catcher but Cruz isnt good enough to carry on the team as a utility player.  It would be a waste to carry two backup catchers.  The olny time his versatility would help is after roster expand.  So yeah, pretty pointless.

Re: 8/29 Gamecrap

I guess they called up Anderson and sent down Jackson, which does not portend well for Yadi.
On a related note, I wonder if Jackson and Dickson (who was also sent out for Rosenthal) bothered to go to Memphis or traveled with the Cardinals to Warshington, since they're probably both going to be called back up when the rosters expand on Saturday.
