9/12 GC

I'm getting a blank screen on EI. Every other game is available. Except the one I want to watch.
Infuriating.

Re: 9/12 GC

You should consider yourself lucky.

Philadelphia will be leading the 2nd wild card by Monday.

Re: 9/12 GC

So I have to watch on Gameday. Anyone else notice when the "Scout" feature reports the pitcher "has plenty left in the tank," he almost immediately gives up a run?

Re: 9/12 GC

I guess Rosenthal won't be starting in L.A. Too bad. That appeared to be an impressive inning on the computer.
Do you ever get the feeling if Matheny bought every ticket but one to the Missouri state lottery, he'd still lose?

Re: 9/12 GC

It's over, Don. The Phillies and Brewers are 3 games back and the Cardinals are heading into a house of horrors in Los Angeles. If they could get out with a 2-2 record I'd say they're in great shape since the next nine would be against Houston, Chicago and Houston. Philly, LA and Milwaukee play some combination of Cincinnati, Washington, Atlanta and San Diego and Pittsburgh before the final week.

But, this team is out of gas.

Re: 9/12 GC

Not that I'm the paragon of optimism here, but if the season ended yesterday, the Cardinals would be one of the wild card teams.
Remember, it wasn't over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, and it ain't over for the Cardinals yet.

I'm just not feeling their chances. Besides the pitching wearing down, they have a really, really dumb manager. It's the only explanation for why Carpenter played right field yesterday.

Re: 9/12 GC

I think this years odds of making the playoffs will depend on other teams losing it instead of the Cardnals winning it.  That has been how they have held onto the 2nd WC spot.  Maybe next year they can have 3 WC spots.
