Re: We won't have Joe Morgan to kick around anymore

Confession time.

I have always liked Joe Morgan and still do.  Miller was too cute.

I like Miller. Morgan not so much. It was all about him and the Big Red Machine. I've heard enough Davey Concepcion references to last me three lifetimes.

I dont think anyone will be good in the ESPN format.  What annoyed me most was when they would talk about every current even other then the game and promote other ESPN shows nonstop.  I could stand Morgan relating everything to his playing days if it wasnt for those other issues.

Frankly, what's the color man for, if not for stuff like that, aside maybe from John Madden saying "BOOM!"?

That is why it doesnt totally bug me.  Al does it as much as anyone and I like him.  However the job of the color guys is not to tell war stories all the time.

I guess I just love war stories.  I would listen to Ollie North tell war stories . . . if he had any.

Morgan is an ignorant and pompous ass. Other than Paul McGuire, I've never listened to a color commentator and thought "wow, that guy is just a total dick."

This is a good move, especially since I'm pretty sure he's the next Unabomber. He's going to retreat to a cabin, live on his own urine, write a 35,000-word manifesto on how techology ruined baseball and send homemade bombs to people who dare to question his infinite wisdom.
