Has Thom and the numbnuts sitting next to him said something about Cozart being a ROTY candidate yet?

This ump is all over the yard ...

Getting Al, Dan and Ricky tonight. Mercifully.

Three runs is nice, but four would be even better.

O'Nora is hard to read. After the pitch comes in, he rights himself like he's going to call a strike, but you don't really know if he's going to bring the arm up. But overall it's a pretty good crew. Hallion is the best of the bunch, but if he's at third base tonight, he won't be working the plate in this series.

For the record, Welsh is awful, but he's better than Brantley. Which is like saying having your head cut off by a sharp axe is better than having your head cut off by a rusty knife. Welsh roots for good things to happen for the Reds. Brantley spouts cliches in half-sentences about obvious things like "Bailey needs to dial one up here ..." and "Country hard ball from Broxton ..."
Throw in Brennaman's shouting and inaccurate play-by-play and it's almost impossible to listen to. The only time I ever use the mute button is during an FSN Ohio broadcast.

What is Brantley doing now?

Molina is a blur, rounding the bases ..

I hope that doesn't end up being an important run.

Need Mujica to shut this inning down .
Pretty good effort from Garcia ...

Brantley usually works radio with Marty, but sometimes he does TV play-by-play with Welsh, usually when Thom is doing a network game. And sometimes he does color with Thom. The radio/TV dynamic in Cincinnati isn't as defined as it is in St. Louis. They all tend to move around, except Marty, who is strictly radio.

I like my double plays with intermissions.

Needed to get the big Freese error out of the way.

Boggs pitches around the error ..

In one of the biggest games of the season we've seen Kozma struggle to make a throw, Jay take an awful route, Freese showing all the graceful footwork of an elephant and Molina let two balls get past him.
And now when they need to tack on runs they've made J. Edgar throw two pitches to get two outs.

Well, there could be at least a Game 163.

Dodgers win in the 9th. Appears we have to take care of this ourselves.

Yeah, the Giants can't go anywhere but the #3 seed, so for this series they've put their starters on a 75-pitch limit, which Zito might reach in the second inning tonight.
But if the Cardinals can't nail this thing down in the next two days with Carpenter and Wainwright on the mound, then they probably don't deserve to go anyway.

So the best the Dodgers can do is win both their games and hope the Cardinals lose both of theirs? That would force a tie between the two and force a one game playoff before the one game playoff? If the Dodgers lose one of the next two or the Cardinals win one of the next two the Cardinals are in.

Yes. I'd thought that a WC tie would be broken by head-to-head records but that's only to determine home-field if two teams tied for both WC slots.
