So I would guess that if the Cardinals are clinched tomorrow, they pull Wainright's start so he can go against Atlanta?

It would be Wainwright or Loshe. I cant really say who I would go with. They have been about the same in their recent starts. I might lean toward Wainwright just because of the gaint nuts that he has.
I found the story on who to carry on the 25 man roster for the one game playoff to be interesting.

If they clinch tonight, I'm guessing we see Miller and/or Rosenthal tomorrow. If the Cardinals need the Dodgers to lose, tonight is the night. Wednesday's matchup is Kershaw/Vogelsong. Not that Vogelsong is a stiff, but if the Dodgers need to win that game, I'd bet a mortgage payment on Kershaw. If I bet. Which I don't.

Without reading it, I'm guessing you could leave three of the four starters - Carpenter, Garcia and Lynn - off and go with position players, as long as you get to re-boot for the NLDS.
You might keep Lynn if you want to get an inning out of him in relief, but the Mujica/Boggs/Motte formula is pretty much set, so having to use Lynn before the seventh would be a sign things aren't going well.

That was the idea. Keep Lynn because he has pitched more out of the pen and can warm up quicker. Depending on who starts I would be temped to keep another starter on. For example, if Loshe started I would keep Wainwright and Lynn on the roster. Even if the Cardinals used them and won the game they could still pitch in the NLDS. That would be the reasoning I put behind starting Loshe.
10/5 -WC playoff - Loshe
10/6-off
10/7-NLDS @ STL-Carp
10/8-NLDS @ STL-Wainwright (I figure he can pitch on 3 days rest if he olny throw an inning or two in the wc playoff)
10/9-off
10/10-NLDS @ Was- Loshe
10/11-NLDS @ Was- Garcia/Lynn
10/12-NLDS @ was- Carp
The wild card playoff is going to have to be played like game 7 so using Wainwright should be an option. Turning around and pitching him on 3 days rest shouldnt hurt him because pitchers throw bullpen sessions inbetween starts anyway. He could just skip that. Of course I am talking about him throwing no more then 2 innings. Then if they could make it that far he would be setup to throw game one of the NLCS.
That is if Loshe starts. I am not conviced that is the way to go. I think it allows for a deeper better pen in the WC playoff. However if you replace Loshe's name with Wainwright's in my schedule then youd get two games started out of Wainwright instead of Loshe. It is 6 of one and half dozen of the other.

I'm thinking Garcia might get one of the home starts.

Looks like Atlanta will be Lohse, but I would want Garcia/Wainright resting for the playoffs should we get there.
Would be nice to get in tonight so we don't have to burn a good starter getting into postseason. Go Carpenter!!
