Does Lynn have the stones here to make a good pitch?
Edit: Yes. Yes, he does.Awesome hook from Lynn to get wolfman .....
So it's not just me who thinks Werth is trying to channel his inner Jim Morrison.

I left for two minutes and come back to see we're in the 7th. Mujica was good?

I realize experience has value, but Wainwright got by more on guts than stuff. Throw out the names, if the Cardinals were sending out their best 4 starters, Wainwright and Carpenter would be battling for the 4th spot.
But at end of the day, Wainwright only gave up a run and left in position to get the win. I guess that's where the experience and guts come into play.

Be really nice to get some insurance here.
C'mon Holliday.

Big opportunity here ....

Geez-us, Brenly. It's an afternoon game in October. There are going to be shadows that make it harder to hit. We got it.

Nice play by Dirty Dan to open the inning, but the next two were routine groundouts.

Yes. Need multiple runs here.
Fuck. Terrible at bat by Craig.
Unfuckingbelievable.
2 pitches? That's inexcusable.

Oh my god this is getting stupid. I fucking hate Kozma.

And an error to start the 8th.
Gee, wonder how this turns out.

I'm clubbing Kozma in the knees tonight to get Jackson on tomorrow

I'm sure he's a much better SS than Porcello.

Even when he was hitting out of his mind I thought he was the wrong choice for SS. At no point in his MiLB career was Kozma a good fielder.

Boggs has horseshit luck. Kozma screws the pooch rushing a routine ground ball so he can get Bigfoot by four steps instead of three, and then he busts a 97 mph heater on Desmond's thumbs that duck snorts into right field. Or is it chickenshit luck?

Scrabble???
Matheny is a peculiar dude. He's buried Scrabble for the last 2 months of the season. Not saying Scrabble didn't deserve it, but Matheny decides that the 8th inning of Game 1 of the LDS is the time to let him pitch his way out of the doghouse? WTF?

Totally believable.

I had the same question.

This is bullshit. First off base loaded and nobody out and they dont score. Craig and Molina go up there and see zero pitches from a new pitcher and slap the ball to infielders like pussies.
Then to go with scrable? I wouldnt even put him on the post season roster let alone in a critical situation. The pitch selection was bad to say the least. At least the last pitch was. Scrabble actually worked a favorable count with the batter waiving at outside pitches. The last pitch that swung threw made him look stupid. Why they went outside instead of busting him up and in I dont know. The guy was lean over the plate looking for exactly what he got. Scrabble went outside on all five pitches.

It said on the post-dispatch that matheny though Scrabble got hot at the right time and was going with him because he pitched well last year. WTFE! Stupid as hell and not just because of what happen. I said this before. Anyone could have seen this coming.
