No reason to bother posting today. Mark DeRosa has already guaranteed a Nationals win.
Hope we can get Game 5.
With that, DeRosa was off on a riff, preparing his pregame remarks for Thursday. “I’m not even on the roster and I already know how Kyle Lohse will pitch me,†DeRosa said. “He’s got no shot tomorrow.â€

That's maybe the most nonsensical quote I've ever read, even from an athlete.
Hey Mark, how was the circus?
I didn't go, but it was great.

I'd like to think DeRosa is full of crap, but the Natinals did knock around Lohse in Washington. And he gave up quite a few hits the second time around.
Lohse in a playoff situation just doesn't fill me up with much confidence.

Detwiler getting 12 days of rest makes me think he's going to be a lot sharper. But who knows, maybe facing the team he presumably grew up watching will make him nervous and he'll throw up all over himself.

The one thing I'm certain about is I'm certain about nothing. The Giants were dead after they lost the first two games at home and had to go to Cincinnati. The A's were the team no one wanted to play until they played the Tigers and the Tigers beat them twice in a row. Then the series was all but over until the A's came back and won the next two. The Orioles had no shot against the mighty Yankees, and even though they're down 2-1, they've gone into the ninth inning of all three games leading or tied.
But Mark DeRosa and his World Series rings are headed to the Hall of Fame, so the Cardinals should probably just take his advice, forfeit today, and play Game 5 tomorrow.

Rec.
He was part of the Cubs Soriano Dynasty, you know.

He's also a forgotten member of the Giants 2010 championship team. 104 plate appearances of a .537 OPS.
Honestly it was a shame that Randy Johnson broke his wrist.

DeRosa's fault. He should have known how Johnson was going to pitch him.

Either my internet sucks or something but I was trying to get Loshe career stats vs DeRosa. I cant think DeRosa has much room to talk.

I cant believe anyone was stupid enough to pick him up after 2009

That's unfair. Dirty Dan is a much better defensive player than Carew ever hoped to be.

Detwiler got squeezed on a couple pitches against Jay.

It took two pitches before Brenly brought up The Dreaded Shadows.

Freese sure does like October

YOO-HOO! Is everyone off trolling Reds' boards?

Jesus, what is the strike zone? Anything between the Potomac and the ocean?

...and it's for exactly this reason I winced when Lohse was pulled for the eighth. Did he seem gassed? Hate the fact Boggs is already gone in a game that could go extra innings.

Football practice. I started the car probably about a minute after Werth finished rounding the bases. Shannon sounded like he needed suicide watch.
