I love how everyone is sorry for the Nationals. Yeah, so sad.

Game 2: Carpenter vs. Vogelsong
Game 3: Lohse vs. Cain

I suppose I am a bad Cardinals fan. I tapped out after they pull WainO. I was exhausted and the begining of sick is my defense. Looks like it is my lose. What a suprise. I bet it was exciting. This club is amazing. The storyline is out of this world. This shit doesnt happen to any other team. A world series from a 83 win team? Knocking of the Mets in game 7. Jeff freaking Weaver. Upseting the Tigers who never seen a bunt before. The unbelievable comeback to the collapsing Braves last year. Knocking off the mighty Phillies and Rangers in elimination games. Freaking game 6 against the Rangers. Sneaking in this year in a new wild card format and now this. I dont believe it.

I suspected you weren't watching and was waiting to see your reaction. I checked in here as soon as I got up just to make sure it wasn't a dream. If this stuff keeps happening, the Cardinals may rival the Yankees for most loved and hated franchise in MLB. Or is that the case already?

I really never mustered a lot of dislike toward them. Except for Harper. Harper thinks it's all about him.

Not that I want to see him start a game in the playoffs, but is Jake Westbrook in the witness protection program? I haven't read or heard anything about him in three weeks.

Rec. The judges also would have also accepted "Tito Landrum."

The only time I really cringed was when the count on Yadi got to two strikes. I was almost certain he was going to put the ball in play either way. It took a lot of discipline to lay off that pitch he took for ball four. It was a hanging slider that was about three inches too high.

Yeah, he went down with an oblique injury a few weeks ago. But it's like his entire existence has been scrubbed. No one talks or writes about him, and I don't think I've seen him in the dugout. He's become the Cardinals' Josef Stalin. Without the war crimes, of course.

And speaking of oblique injuries, how do you think the last 48 hours have gone over in the manager's office in Cincinnazi?

He wasnt injured and isnt in a "slump"... he was just off his game last night, had the ball way up in the strike zone and got hammered. He's a veteran, he'll be fine.
I dunno, Windy, the Wainwright we saw last night was pretty familiar to the Wainwright who came out the chute in April throwing non-cutting cutters that usually ended up in the gap or over the wall. I don't think he's injured, but there's definitely a case to be made that after 206 innings a year after not throwing the ball at all that he's lost his sharpness. I know he had the Nationals all over the place in Game 1, but the only thing he could throw for a strike was his curve ball.

I saw him in the dugout during Game 2, I think. Strauss said about a week before the playoffs that there was no chance he would pitch again this season, so I think that's why he's been a non-topic.
If you think that's curious, though, imagine the GM going on the radio and not even mentioning him as a starter in the rotation next year. Ouch.

I don't really dislike them, either, but I don't understand where the sympathy is coming from. Did people feel sorry for the Cardinals in 2002 when they lost Kile and Buck, won 97 games with Chuck Finley in the rotation and came up short in the NLCS? I don't remember an outpouring of support for the franchise back then. Sheesh, what makes Washington so special?

It was troubling that he was missing up so much. Hope he isnt hurting.

Oblique strain, I doubt they are going to see how he reacts to coming off that injury in the post season. Id say the 5th starter right now is Joe Kelly.

Really? Then why did they resign him? It seems kind of unneeded now with Joe Kelly and Carp gooding strong. Better to have to much then not enough.

I have been wondering why the media has been so stuck on Washington to. They keep saying the Nationals have found a home. I dont understand. They have had one good year and the fans showed up. How do they know people will come if they suck next year. Everyone seems to want them to win the WS.
As for Harper, I dont dislike him. He is 20 freaking years old. I like how he plays the game. He plays hard. He does have some growing up to do. The face paint thing was dumb. How classy do you expect a 20 year old to be?
