Looks like you guys are getting some weather in St. Louis. Any thoughts on whether the game will be delayed?

Before I asked, I should have turned on MLBN, which has become the Weather Channel this afternoon. Gammons just said the rain is supposed to start about 4 p.m. Don't know if he means CT or ET. Guessing it's the latter, because he's an East Coaster and it's all about us.

No rain here yet but I am 2hrs aways from STL. Windy tho.

As of this morning, they were expecting the real rain to start right about the time they expected first pitch. It's supposed to last until about 7-8 CST. Right now it's just misting, but it's getting colder and windier.
I bet MLB is really hoping for Detroit/St. Louis part II. Who can forget the images of Jered Weaver sitting in the stands dressed like he was headed on a journey to the North Pole.

Anyone who's watching already knows this, but the tarp is off the field and it appears they are beginning the introductions, so I assume they are going to begin on time. When it finishes, however, is another question.

The Cardinals and this pitching staff could use some help along the way from mother nature.

They could really use another quality start from Kyle Lohse.

Buck really thought the crowd was going to give some sort of ovation for Scutaro? LOL

Matt Cain is one ugly dude.
ETA: He looks like he's in fine form. Ugh.

Who is calling for Kyle Lohse to pitch around a .230 hitter in the second inning of a LCS game?

Really, I'd like to know who called for that pitcharound. Either Matheny is managing scared or he doesn't trust Lohse.

With the way Carp and Wainwright have looked the need to lean on Loshe heavy.

Seriously, Timo Perez Award.

Lohse really isn't pitching badly. Giants have two bloop hits.

Tuned in just in time to see Carpenter's HR.
Reading between the lines, maybe there was some thought to giving Beltran some rest? "Matt Carpenter, who is four-for-four in his career against Giants starter Cain, replaces All-Star in right".

That's a nice strike zone for Lohse, getting the calls at (or just below) the knees. It forced Blanco to reach low on the later pitch. Lohse could go deep if things stay as they are.
. . . and then he walks him. Oh well.

How is the strike zone? I'm listening to the game, not watching it and can't tell if Lohse is struggling with control or if he's just not getting calls on the edges. Doesn't sound like he's going to get very deep in the game, but if he can get 6 innings, you turn it over to the bullpen and cross your fingers.

IMO, he was getting the calls at the knees but was, perhaps, trying ti expand the zone on the outside of the plate. I've only been watching a bit. In any case, he almost got through 6, but is now well over 100 p. and is gone.

Rosenthal quiets that down ...

Another couple runs will be needed

A missing persons report needs to be sent out on Holliday and Craig....

I think the sooner Matheny understand Kelly and Rosenthal are his lock down pre 9th inning guys the better.
