Regular season, the home team makes the call until first pitch, then it's in the hands of the umpires.
The rules are a little different in the post-season in that nine innings have to be played. The umpires make the call when to stop and start, but they're going to play nine if they have to go to 3 a.m.
I think the Phillies and the Rays played a WS game in '08 that had a really long rain delay, and they finished it.

I hope the game comes back on pretty soon if for no other reason than I can stop watching Fox's terrible programming. This X Factor thing with Britney Spears judging a bunch of kids is ridiculous. Don't you have to have talent yourself to discern it in others?

I've had local news and now some stupid program with Charlie Sheen.  The kids are complaining and asking why we have to watch this crap and I don't have a real good answer.

She may be crazy, but shaving all the hair off her body was probably defensive strategy in an ugly divorce and custody fight with K-Fed, or whoever her husband d'jour was.  She had reportedly been using a lot of drugs and was probably concerned they would get hair samples and document her drug use.

Which may also explain the Brazilian wax she exhibited getting out of the limo, but then again there were probably dozens of men out there who could have provided law enforcement with samples of her pubic hair.

and in my case it is, alas, not true.  my wife's job covers the lion's share of the bills these days.

You'd think . . . but if they're not connected to her body, they can't really prove when they came off the body.  My hunch is that K-Fed's lawyers probably wanted to prove recent use of illegal drugs in order to gain custody.

How is the strike zone?  I'm listening to the game, not watching it and can't tell if Lohse is struggling with control or if he's just not getting calls on the edges.  Doesn't sound like he's going to get very deep in the game, but if he can get 6 innings, you turn it over to the bullpen and cross your fingers.

It's a really tight zone. When was the last time Lohse walked five guys in a game? OK, so they pitched around Posey twice, but he wasn't getting anything on the corners.

I think Buck said he had 38 walks all year.  That is pretty amazing.

Re: NLCS Game 3 GC

Matheny sat around for 2 hrs and came up with the idea that Motte for a 6 out save was the best idea?

Re: NLCS Game 3 GC

Motte needed that quick inning.

Yeah they finished it the next day.  Gmae start time was mid evening in like the 7th or something.

Can't believe the Giants went up hacking knowing Motte needs 6 outs.  They did him a favor.

With games the next two nights I am little worried about Motte's possible workload.  I know you play to win today in the playoffs but when you dont have anyone in the pen you believe can get out the 7th, 8th and 9th hitters in the gaints lineup there maybe a problem.

Yeah, I didn't understand that substitution.  Who does Matheny have left on the bench at this point, Cruz?
