Worst color-man in sports

bar none: Dan Dierdorf

He's even toned it down since his MNF days, but even so it's like his only comments in the booth are these 'holier-than-thou' comments where he chastises a player or referee like a headmaster lecturing a recalcitrant prep school student.  And not aware of how annoying he is, he almost seems to cultivate, right down to the way he has his mike EQ-ed.  The guy radiates self-righteous pompous ass.

Substitute "MNF" for "coaching the Ravens," and you've got Brian Billick.

another Dierdorf-ism is to give a long-winded, pedantic explanation as to why a team down by 6 with 2:36 left to play and no timeouts might opt for something other than a standard kickoff, without even getting around to mentioning the possibility of the alternative, such that a colleague in the booth has to bail him out and say, "so this is good situation for an onside kick", after a minute or two of Dierdorf's pseudo-professorial babbling about inanities.
