Holliday has been scratched.
My prediction: Giants jump on Carp and chase him by the fourth; Vogelsong throws seven shutout innings and we're back tomorrow night.

Jay just swung through a 92 mph fastball down the middle. Good sign

Why did Matheny decide to have Carp pitch tonight when he was so bad last time?

Carp looks awful. He's not long for this one.

If umps are giving Vogelsong that big of a zone he'll no-hit them.

I assume this is the Beltran laziness I've heard tell about?

Carp is killing us (depressed)

So is Kozma.

They gotta get Carp out of there. Hard to watch a Chris Carpenter who cant get a fastball by anyone pitch.
I was really surprised & disappointed when I saw that Carp was pitching (furious) He was obviously not ready!!

On the on hand, he IS Chris Freakin Carpenter. On the other hand, he had a rib and some neck muscles removed about 12 weeks ago, and I dont see how you can be the same physically this soon. If Garcia hadnt gotten hurt I'm guessing Carp wouldnt be pitching.
So we had NO ONE ELSE to put in there to clinch the National League title?!!!

Just tuning in. IMO, by the time it was 5-0 in the second, Carp pitches til his arm falls off. No sense wasting the pen down by that much. Sorry, but Carp has to eat this. And as we just saw, he nutted up and struck out the side.

Game 7 is WAY different from Game 6. We can lose tonight and come back tomorrow, but why use the bullpen today when tomorrow we start out 0-0 all over again?

So says the Oracle of Delphi.
I, for one, have no doubt that we are witnessing an epic comeback in progress . . .

Fortunately that is no longer possible, but still, what an epic comeback it would be it the Giants won tonight and forced a Game 7?

Time for Skip to add a feel good element to the swan song of his career.

For the record, I said at the time walking Brandon Crawford in the second inning was a really, really stupid decision.

I was fully engrossed in the Raiders/Jags game and I'm too depressed to look it up. What happened to Holliday?
