Bourn signs with the Indians. 4 years, $48M.

This kind of negates their acquisition of Drew Stubbs, since they've now got an outfield of Brantley, Bourn and Swisher. I suppose that trade from the Indians' perspective was all about acquiring Trevor Bauer, but geez, Stubbs is a little better than your typical spare part.

Re: Off-season GC

i am not sure how good stubbs is either.  he strikes out alot and hits for a low average.  those things will have to change.  the fact that all his hrs have come at launching pads like cin, chi and houston doesnt help either.

Mark Reynolds was signed to play first.  Travis Hafner recently signed with the Yankees, so they might need a DH.  Or Reynolds used to play third, so they could probably move him back if Lonnie Chissenhall doesn't work out.

Re: Off-season GC

or reynolds could dh because he sucks at fielding and swisher play first

The only thing I remember about Reynolds is that he's good for about 220 strikeouts a season if you let him play everyday.

Re: Off-season GC

I didn't mean to suggest Stubbs is an all-star. With the acqusition of Bourn, in any version of their lineup, they're committed to playing Stubbs in a corner outfield spot, which kind of makes him less consequential than he already is.
My comment is why they would trade for a guy and then two months later go out and sign a free agent who plays the same position. Maybe the Reds told the Indians they had to take him if they wanted Choo. I don't know. It's not like the Reds were shedding salary when they got rid of Stubbs. The whole thing just seems very Steinbrennerish.

I think in the Playstation2 version of MLB 2K12, if you end up picking a team that has Reynolds, Stubbs and Adam Dunn, your console explodes.

Re: Off-season GC

the 2012 indians sucked.  nobody batted over .290 and olny two guys came close.  the only player to have over a .800 ops they traded.
