2/26 Gamecrap
Today featured the "D" lineup. The highlights:
Oscar Taveras played CF and went 3 for 5.
Matt Carpenter played 2B, went 1 for 2 with a couple of walks and scored 3 runs
Matt Adams hit a pinch hit, 3-run HR
Tony Cruz had a 3 RBI double
Jaime Garcia 2 scoreless innings
Eduardo Sanchez pitched a scoreless inning and struck out 2 (how nice would it be if he could ever find his control?)
The lowlights:
Scrabble gave up 2 runs. They were unearned, but it was his own error that cost him
Why is Victor Marte taking up a roster spot?
Cardinals beat up Boston 15-4.

Bernie is making a pretty good case right now for having Taveras on the roster immediately. He correctly pointed out that the manager and GM said Beltran and Holliday need more rest and that Jon Jay can't hit on the road.
FWIW, I don't think there's any chance he breaks with the club unless someone gets hurt, but I think I'd do it.

I assume you must be listening to his radio show. I haven't seen anything to that effect on the P-D website.
FWIW- I agree that Taveras is unlikely to come north, absent an injury. They aren't going to be in any hurry to start the clock on his service time.
It'd really be nice if Wong could have a huge spring and force his way onto the roster. At this point, the middle infield is pretty bad.
