8-8 tie with Houston. Among the good:
- Joe Kelly with 2 scoreless innings
- Descalso 2 for 2 with a couple of RBIs
- Adron Chambers hit a 3-run HR
- Kozma 2 for 4 with an RBI
- Eduardo Sanchez pitched another scoreless inning and, more importantly, didn't walk anyone
- We scored 2 runs off Bud Norris (hey, I know it's spring, but this never happens)
The bad:
- Taveras, Freese and Adams all went 0-fer.
- Motte got tagged for a 2-run bomb (and according to the P-D, it went a L-O-N-G way)
- Scrabble sucks. He didn't give up any runs, but 1 IP, 1 H and 2 BB isn't going to cut it.
- Again I ask, why is Victor Marte in camp? Today he coughed up 2 runs in the 9th to bring about the tie.

The other takeaway from Strauss yesterday is that he is handicapping the Race for the Fifth Starter as being Kelly's. Assuming Miller is healthy and performing well I think he should get the spot ahead of him, but the Cardinals apparently liked what they saw last year and Strauss thinks that gives him the edge.

I heard that. If Kelly wins the spot convincingly, I don't have a problem with it. After the way he finished the season at Memphis, I'm not sure what Miller has to prove down there. In Rosenthal's case, he's never started a game above AA, so if they view him as a starter I don't have a problem if he gets some exposure at AAA.
