Re: Furcal Officially Done

[Sigh] This should have been done last August. They still could have gotten a couple of months out of him at the end of this season.
Maybe it's all part of a conspiracy to turn the position over to Kozma and make the front office look like they made a brilliant pick when they drafted him.

Why again are we disposing of an 18 game winner who's cost controlled and throws 95 mph?

Re: Furcal Officially Done

Mozeliak was asked on Bernie's show how Cedeno has looked. His response was "umm...not great." I don't know if there was more after that, but it's pretty interesting.

I'm not sure I've ever heard or read a quote like that from anyone connected to the Cardinals.

Re: Furcal Officially Done

Seems like we got in a big brouhaha over whether to write off Furcal, something about the Cards not writing off Adam Kennedy sized contracts.  I don't remember the details at this time.

Re: Furcal Officially Done

The case of Jackson gets more and more curious. Strauss says that Greg Garcia has passed him on the organizational depth chart. Garcia looks like the Matt Carpenter of shortstops, but I really have no idea what to believe from the Cardinals anymore. Mozeliak said Kozma was nearly passed through waivers last year. He was pushed from shortstop to second base when Jackson was promoted.
