No finanicial terms have been posted anywhere, but I'm guessing that the AAV is less than Pujols'.

God hasn't blessed him like that yet.

True that. The meek may end up inhereting the Earth, but God doesn't speak to you directly unless you're making nine figures.

Craig will make $1.75 million this year, $2.75 million in 2014, $5.5 million in 2015, $9 million in 2016 and $11 million in 2017.
The Cardinals have a $13 million option for 2018 with a $1 million buyout.

Things have a way of changing, but it's certainly possible that the Cardinal lineup (other than SS) is now set for quite a while
C- Molina (signed thru 2017)
1B- Craig (signed through 2017, 2018 option)
2B- Wong (6 years of team control)
SS- ????
3B- Freese (2 years of team control)
LF- Holliday (signed thru 2016, 2017 option)
CF- Jay (4 years of team control)
RF- Taveras (6 years of team control)
Not to mention, while they may not relish the role of bench/back up player, you also have 6 more years of control over Adams and 5 more years of control over Matt Carpenter. That would give you a pretty solid bench or, alternatively, assets to trade.

Yes. I was going to make a post about this, but didn't have time.

idk what to think of craigs contract. cards could have got a fair deal. they need to keep him at frist tho. his injuries issues would have had me leary of this deal. that is the only thing tho. he is sodil.
