Oregon is actually doing pretty well. I watched them beat Arizona (#4 at the time) earlier.
Still can't get past that basketball floor... My god that's ugly..

They have a good point guard, and the kid in the middle is a beast. Ditto on the floor. It took me about a half-hour to realize that was the silhouette of a forest. I thought at first it looked like a giant cat had puked on it.

It honestly gives me a damned headache. Feel like I'm watching at a glare angle. Sucks lol

Priceless: the NCAA has suspended its investigation of Miami because it turns out they were using Nevin Shapiro's defense attorney to illegally obtain documents.

And now it turns out that the lead investigator was a kU grad/employee with a checkered history of questionable investigations (she somehow managed to get assigned to Josh Selby's eligibility case before he landed at kU and recently was fired for her handling of Shabazz Muhammad's case). How in the fuck is this broad in charge of an investigation involving kU's most hated rival?

"To say the least, I am angered and saddened by this situation. Trust and credibility are essential to our regulatory tasks,” Emmert said. "My intent is to ensure our investigatory functions operate with integrity and are fair and consistent with our member schools, athletics staff and most importantly our student-athletes," he added.
Of course when I think of "trust and credibility," I think of the NCAA.
You've got to give Shapiro's attorney credit for at least one thing: She's not going to take any shit from the NCAA. Nor should she. She didn't come up with their goofy rules, and she's not bound to them.

Can't quite figure out what's going on with Arizona State. I've been saying all along they're frauds, they played a cupcake out-of-conference sked, they'll nose dive once they get into conference play, etc.
But after winning last night, they're 15-4. Three of their losses are to top 20 teams. They got drilled by DePaul at home, which will probably end up being deemed a "bad loss" by the committee, but they've got a shot here. 8-4 the rest of the way will get it done, but they've got two games against UCLA, home vs. Oregon and at Tucson, which leaves them no room for error. Maybe 6-6 and a win in the conference tournament gets them in, since the prevailing mood about the Pac 12 is that it's better this year.

Oregon is now 17-2 and got another ranked win over #24 UCLA in their house.
Barring a collapse, I think I'll get to cheer for them in March, that will be fun.

And in March they'll be playing somewhere other than that Twilight Zone court of theirs.

Which will make me more likely to watch!
God help the NCAA if they ever let that court host a regional...

Those uniforms are horrendously ugly.

WWU made news here last night.
Weird thing, they won the championship on their home court. I don't know how they do the tourney in Division II.
BELLINGHAM — Western Washington University knows how to erase the sting of defeat.
Just 10 days ago, Western watched Seattle Pacific celebrate a Great Northwest Conference title with a dramatic buzzer-beating win over the Vikings. WWU exacted revenge by winning the NCAA Division II Tournament West Regional, and for the second year in a row, it came at SPU’s expense.

At least Missouri is going to lose this game wire-to-wire. I don't think I could have handled watching them blow another double-digit lead in the 2nd half.
I'm looking forward to watching SLU play Oregon. From what you guys have said it sounds like Oregon is pretty good. Right now, I'm not sure there are a dozen teams playing better than SLU. They defend like a mother lion defending her cubs.

Tonight the illini are not making want to give up on the game of basketball like the other day. We will see how it turns out.

Big Ten is about normal so far: bring four teams to the sweet 16, and then be lucky if one advances past that point.

It's easy to root for Florida Gulf Coast because they're a 15th seed, but I like the way they play. They move the ball, they hit the boards hard and the point guard has great vision. It's almost like real basketball.

that is the normal story. Illini were actually okay to watch lasr night. They lost but at least they attemped to get the ball to the basket better. I cant stand watching guys jack up threes off the dribble.

they are in good shape. They run the ball up the court everytime. That has got to wear the other team down.

I hope Oregon can stay with Louisville but I can't say I'm optimistic. #5, #4, #1 and if they win they get Duke or Michigan... (2/3 seeds).
Very tough draw for the Ducks, but so far they are playing really well. So is Arizona, although Belmont and Harvard aren't the same caliber as Oklahoma St, and SLU.. Still though, 2 of the sweet 16 are Pac-12 teams!

Damn, we went to KC on the wrong weekend. It would almost be worth the 3 1/2 hour drive to go back and ask random people "wasn't it awesome watching kU choke away a 10 point lead with under 3 minutes to play?"
Rock choke chicken hawk, fuck kU!!!

"Rock choke chicken hawk, fuck kU!!!"
And with that, the Big Ten breaks the mold, and at least two teams will advance to the round of 8.
And FWIW, Fla Gulf Coast still has the lead 24-20, though they blew a much bigger lead.
