I like the odds of the good guys in this one.

Doesn't feel like opening day. Not with a 10 p.m. (my time) start in Phoenix.

Yeah, the whole week is going to be odd since they'll be out west.
Did anyone see what happened in the Texas-Houston game? Ankiel homers, Ronny Cedeno gets an RBI single, Lance Berkman goes 2-2, Bud Norris pitches like crap but his team still wins.

Was right on all but one.

I joined a pro fantasy baseball league for the first time. I think money will be the incentive that gets me to pay attention every day.

I knew the Astros were going to start winning once they moved to the inferior league.

Season is officially underway. Cubs have already made their first error.

Uh oh. There goes any free time you may have hoped to have.

This is what I suspected.

Whoa Joba Chamberlain is sporting a ridiculously vintage mustache.

The Cubs hung on to win, but not before their manager handed Marmol a 3-0 lead only to have to go get him 4 batters later (1 hit, 1 walk, 1 HBP and 1 K).

Ludwick hurt his shoulder and is out of the game for TTTIB. Angels and Reds tied up 1-1.

Boston beat the Yankees, who I have read, have about $90 million worht of patroll on the DL.

Eric Bedard is a closer now?

Being reported that Ludwick dislocated his shoulder.
In other games, Clayton Kershaw, not satisfied with merely shutting out SF for 8 innings, is allowed to bat for himself to lead off the 8th and hits a HR to give LA a 1-0 lead.

No, he's a long reliever. He just happened to come into a 4-2 game in the 6th and pitch the last 3.1 innings of a game that ended 8-2 so he was awarded a save.

Jackie Bradley had a nice game, drawing three walks and all, but I'm not sure it deserves its own mention on "SportsCenter." I have never seen this much attention paid to a good, not great, prospect.
I wonder if it has anything to do with Boston?

Eight innings into Opening Day and Brennaman's Mentally-Retarded Son and his Idiot Sidekick have already uttered a season's worth of cliches and obvious statements.
"Ducks on the pond for Bruce ... he really wants to get a hit here ..."

Ludwig separated his shoulder sliding head-first into third base. Wonder if Wainwright started singing "Ricky's Gone ..." in the visitors' clubhouse in Phoenix.

That's right. Stare in at the umpire because he didn't ring up Callaspo on a pitch that's six inches off the plate.

He could be the first player enshrined in the Hall of Fame after one game in the majors.

LaRussa's retirement makes Mike Scioscia the reigning over-manager in the major leagues.
