Jay looks way out of synch.

Clearly a tip

Hardest hit ball of Pence's career.

Sigh.

I've about had it with Jay's noodle arm.

Way, way too many K's.

Vogelsong is locked in. This one is probably over.

Jay shows no interest in waiting on anything. He's just hacking away.

Giants will get at least one back.

What goes through the mind of Cardinal pitchers when Scutaro comes up that makes them lose their shit?

Hopefully someone is getting warm.

Miller was nibbling on Belt. Not sure why Matheny didn't pull him after walking Pence.

Three more years of Choate.
Mozeliak should be barred from signing free agents because he's terrible at it.
Offline
Matheny gets away from paint-by-numbers and goes with...Salas.

Horrible job by Mujica.

I'm watching the Arizona State/Stanford softball game. I'm not watching the stupid American League game Fox is forcing upon me.

So they've apparently decided Rosenthal can't work in back-to-back games. That could be a problem, don'tcha think?
Offline
Hmmm. Apparently Mujica throws an 86 mph fastball that tails into right handlers and drops a foot.
Fox broke out its quality announcers for this game.

Looks like Sugar has already passed up Wiggy on the depth chart.

I was about to post the exact same thing.

Anyone else think that Matt Carpenter is going to force some discussion about what the team can get for either Wong or Freese?

The Sun Devils broke the game open with five runs in the top of the fifth.

I see in the box score Honus had three more hits. How long does this last?

Stanford's manager just got tossed for arguing balls and strikes. Does anyone really take softbal seriously enough to get ejected?

I probably played slow-pitch softball for close to 20 years and only remember one person ever getting tossed.
I used to work with a cop named Ed who was probably 6'1, 235 pounds of chiseled muscle. Because he had so much muscle, he was more stiff than athletic, but when he connected he could hit a softball a mile. We're playing in a league and Ed, because of his athletic limitations, is catching. Guy on the other team hits a single with a runner on 2nd. Throw comes home and the throw beats the runner by 3-4 steps. Slow-pitch rules don't allow for home plate collisions, but the runner comes charging in and throws a forearm that catches Ed square in the nose. It took 3 of us to hold Ed back and keep him from killing this guy who was too stupid to know when to shut up. The umpire ended up throwing the guy out of the game, and when the manager of the other team came to ask why, the umpire's response was that he was trying to save the guy's life.
