That's nothing. Marmol has given up almost as many to the Upton brothers.

Re: 4/7 Gamecrap

Fuck the Giants. Fuck their banner raising ceremony, their ring ceremony and fuck Buster Posey's MVP award. Now Giants fans have reason to boo.

Re: 4/7 Gamecrap

Berkman is destroying it to start the season. I know there wasn't room for him, but damn would that have been nice last year.

Re: 4/7 Gamecrap

I know it is just 2 starts but adams is raking.  If he keeps hitting it is going to be hard to not play him.  I like that he has got two starts in the first 6 games.  idk if he will start 50 games but i am sure glad cedano didnt take his roster spot.

You didn't get the segments while the game was in progress of the TV announcers getting their rings, the Spanish radio announcers getting their rings, the public address announcer getting her ring, the interview of the guy from Tiffany who handed out the rings, or the description of the replica rings that were handed out to the first 40,000 fans who attended today's game.
Good thing the 14-3 final score didn't dampen any of the festivities.

He had a nice day. I have a feeling he's not going to see another fastball around his knees until August.

Re: 4/7 Gamecrap

The Cardinals have one regular slugging over .400 and it's Pete Kozma. Their best players aren't even hitting .260 yet they are third in the NL in runs. Weird start.

These early-season statistics make for some interesting talking points, like how the Rockies look like the '27 Yankees on paper until you realize they've played at Miller Park and at home against San Diego in their first two series.
Hell, even the Mets look pretty good right now.

One thing that can be guaranteed is that the Brewers are going to suck.

I read that the Brewers are carrying 13 pitchers which resulted in Lohse pinch hitting with the Brewers down a run in either the 10th or 11th inning. Brilliant strategy. Never underestimate the value of the 8th reliever in the bullpen.

Yeah, that's some outstanding roster construction.

Yeah, that's some outstanding roster construction.

I saw it. Part of the problem was Braun and Ramirez were unavailable and their shortstop got hurt during the game. Roenicke set Braun into the on-deck circle so the Diamondbacks would pitch to Weeks (who incredibly took a called third strike even though he knew Braun was just out there as a decoy).
Roenicke then pulled Braun back and had to send up Lohse, who got one good hack in againt Heath Bell before he took a called third to end the game. I'm guessing it's the first time in the history of baseball that an MVP had been called back so a pitcher could hit.
