I figure since we've been talking about this topic in various threads, it's probably worth starting one of it's own.
So let me ask you guys--Tk--this may be more directed at you since it sounds like you've got real money invested. When you draft, do you try to avoid players you dislike and/or players on teams you dislike? Today my team got homers from Anthony Rizzo, Soriano and it looks like I'm getting a win from Tony Congrani (who I added in place of Cueto). I feel so unclean.

Since I've got money in it I have to pull for whoever. Luckily I'm not stuck with anyone I actively hate (i.e. no Reds, Brewers, Yankees and just one Red Sock and one Cub).
I thought about grabbing Cingrani, but I've already got five starters (Verlander, Zimmerman, Miley, Maholm and Miller - The 3 M's?) and none of them are worth dropping.
My first place run ended after Wednesday, but I'm back on top today.

You would so hate my team. I have Cueto (Cingrani) and Latos, Aoki, Teixiera and Jeter, Victorino, Dempster and Hanrahan (Bailey), Rizzo and Soriano.
I moved up to 3rd after yesterday. I just got Headley back, but got decent production from Josh Donaldson in his absence. Garrett Jones has done OK in Teixiera's absence and I was able to get Johnny Peralta for Jeter.
By design, our league requires a certain amount of luck. I originally drafted Cueto in 2011. He was coming off an OK year, but was injured during spring training. I got him for the minimum bid of $1 and have simply held onto him since (this is the last year I can keep him), giving him a dollar raise each year. Last year I was able to get Dempster and Alejandro de Aza for $1 each. There are 21 players on a roster and you have $260 to spend, so having 3 decent players for a whopping total of $7 gave me a decent foundation.

That sounds like a really fun league, with the exception of how limited you are on making waiver claims.
I too have Jhonny Peralta and am rolling with him as my backup shortstop to (ugh) Starlin Castro. I dumped JJ Hardy from that role. Peralta is going to be batting behind three guys that will be on base more than 40 percent of the time.
I really have no idea what to do with BJ Upton. That guy was my fourth round pick and he's been outplayed by Jayson Werth (19th), Dexter Fowler (17th), Nick Swisher (10th) and Carlos Beltran (9th).

Actually the lack of waiver claims isn't that big of a deal. With 14 teams and 21 roster spots per team (plus guys on the DL), the waiver wire is pretty thin most of the time. As of today, Rick Ankiel is listed among the top 25 available position players.

I'm close to benching Prado.

John Buck got dropped in my league today. Someone apparently thinks it's over.

Team "Trial and Error" pushed into 2nd place after this weekend's games. One month into the season and I have the most pitching points and I'm 6th in the offensive categories.
Is offense down around the league again? My team is only hitting .259, but that's good enough for 7th place so far. It should be near the basement.

I've got Maholm going against Zimmermann today, plus I picked up Andrew Cashner. I'm getting buried in strikeouts and wins so today is a big day for Sticky Fingerz.

The pitching categories were the least of my concern for April. I'm first in Ks and ERA, 2nd in WHIP and 3rd in W. I'm actually considering trading some pitching, especially if the Reds decide to keep Cingrani in the majors when Cueto comes back.

Wade Miley has been cut. TK wishes him the best in his future endeavors, which hopefully means allowing six baserunners in two innings for his competition.

Too bad we can't swing an inter-league trade. If the Reds decide to keep Cingrani in the majors, I will be looking to upgrade my offense by moving a pitcher (either Latos or Cueto--I can't keep 3 Reds).
Right now my team ERA is 2.52, my WHIP is 1.06 and I'm leading the league in strikeouts. Right now, my rotation is:
Bumgarner
Latos
Kuroda
Scherzer
Dempster
Cingrani (Cueto)

I'm now a half-point out of ninth place. So I've got that going for me. Which is nice.

I'm in 3rd place and getting beat up by injuries. Werth, Fowler and Swisher have been in and out too much; Prado, Castro and Upton are huge disappointments; Fielder gets walked too much and when he is on there's nobody to drive him in and my closers aren't getting enough opportunities.
Molina has been lights out for me, though.
ETA: Fielder is 8th in the league in OBP but 45th in runs. This is idiotic.

Cingrani has given up two, 2-run homers today. Both to Soriano. Both times with Rizzo on base.
Guess who happens to have Rizzo and Soriano.

Oh, Starlin Castro is 0-3 and can't even get on base. Surprise!

Riding the wave of recent hot streaks by youngsters Anthony Rizzo (13 for 28, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 6 R, 2 SB) and Jedd Gyorko (10 for 27, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 5 R), team Trial and Errors pushed its way into 1st place last night. It's a fairly tenuous lead, with 4 other teams in striking distance, but always good to wake up in 1st.
One area of concern has been the #2 closer position. I opened the season with Joel Hanrahan, added Andrew Bailey when Hanrahan went on the DL, kept Bailey (my 1st of 6 roster moves) when it was announced he would keep the job over Hanrahan, but now Bailey is on the DL. So where does a manager turn when his bullpen reeks of desparation?
Subject to someone sending an email earlier this morning than mine, Trial and Errors newest closer is--Edward Mujica.
Now I can sweat the Cardinals games on two fronts.

Despite an almost impossible 2 for 37 performance on Sunday, team Trial & Errors won the 3rd two-week period of the season banking $25. I remain in 1st overall entering tonight.

All right, I'm looking for some advice.
I have a deal proposed to me. I would give up Prince Fielder and Starlin Castro for Mark Trumbo and CC Sabathia.
I'm really not keen on the idea of swapping out those two for a first baseman and a pitcher. Pitching isn't really my issue. I have a roster full of good pitchers. So my counter-offer is going to be Fielder and Castro for Choo and Trumbo.
What do you guys think?

So, how's everyone doing at the ASB?
My team is sitting in 3rd. I'm positioned pretty well though--only 1.5 points out of 1st and 10.5 points ahead of 4th.

Tied for 6th, and climbing.

One week to go. First place was decided long ago, but I'm hanging onto second with two teams in striking distance. I sold my soul to the fantasy gods. There were points available in the stolen base category. I took a chance and picked up Billy Hamilton. It cost me one point in RBI but I've added four points in SB.
